Adrian is a Chartered Civil Engineer who worked for North East Lincolnshire Council and the former Cleethorpes Borough Council before moving into the private sector.  He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.  Although retired, he continues to lead a number of professional initiatives at regional, national and international levels.

Implementing the enclosures acts included the construction of hundreds of miles of new road and the draining of land.  It was undertaken in parallel with the construction of canals and turnpikes.  Adrian explores the enclosure process not as a historian, but as a civil engineer with an interest in both the history of civil engineering, and the impacts of enclosure on North Thoresby and the wider landscape of northern Lincolnshire.
